WHO ARE WE AND WHAT ARE WE ABOUT
The Easton Area Industrial Land Development Company was
created in 1961 (it was known as the Easton Area Promotion Corporation). The
purpose of the organization is to improve the employment base by attracting
industry to our community. Over the past 40+ years we have helped companies
relocate as well as expanding their facilities, but we didn’t do it alone.
EAILD, as the catalyst, together with State and Local Government Agencies in
addition to Business and Community support has made it all happen. EAILD is
dedicated to serving the community through Economic Development. The first to locate here was the ITT plant on Route 22.
Today there are over 6000 people employed in the Forks and Palmer Industrial
Parks. Two Industrial Parks were developed in Forks Township after the purchase
of 120 acres. When you travel East on Tatamy Martins Creek Road, in Forks
Township, on the left just before the intersection of Uhler and Kesslersvill
Roads you will see the completed Forks Industrial Park IV. This tract contains
ten industrial lots fully improved including a bike path around the perimeter
of the park. This tract was developed at a cost of more than 2.1 million.
Currently in Forks Township we have available 29 acres on Glover Road known as
Forks Industrial Park III, also we have two parcels consisting of one 17-acre
tract and a 21-acre tract known as Forks Industrial Park V, which is on
Richmond and Newlins Road. The Palmer Industrial Park located on Tatamy Road was
purchased in 1968. Today, all 17 lots are sold in Palmer with Plants built and
occupied. We’ve built a great economic tradition based on an
outstanding work ethic and a well-trained work force; a location central to
consumer and business markets; extensive natural resources; and the development
of renowned academic, scientific, and medical institutions. Today Pennsylvania remains at the core of America’s growth,
leading the way with a dynamic mix of advanced technology, research and development,
manufacturing, and more. By building on these strengths, Pennsylvania maintains
a fertile environment to ensure economic growth. Our comprehensive incentive
and financing programs and our positive business climate continue to attract
many of the nation’s leading firms. The Commonwealth has been at the forefront of creating a
comprehensive strategy for development and growth. The advantages of doing
business in Pennsylvania are many, and we are building on them through the
Governor’s innovative programs and comprehensive package of incentives and
financing. They are part of our commitment to deliver the Pennsylvania
advantage to your business. We want to be your new business partner. Together we will
work to make you another “Pennsylvania Success Story”. We still have an ambitious task ahead of us and we plan to
continue to acquire land for industrial development. We also realize that
restoring vacant commercial buildings within our area is an important element
in the health of all business. To this end we have been successful in assisting
the converting of empty buildings into new renovated owner occupied business.
We will do what we can to put buildings and business together to build a
stronger revitalized community. Our goal is the same as it was over forty years
ago – IMPROVE the EMPLOYMENT scene by CREATING JOBS.
